Mushroom Wanderland is a great book for anyone looking to get into wild mushroom foraging. The book tells readers all the ways mushrooms can be used and gives readers specifics on how to use mushrooms yourself. The lessons the book teaches include how to find mushrooms, how to harvest mushrooms, mushroom vocabulary, how to store and cook mushrooms, and how to identify different species. The species identification section is short, but
informative, and gives examples of edible mushrooms, medicinal mushrooms, deadly mushrooms, and other cool fungi, all of which is important to foraging. My favorite part is the “In Pursuit of Fungi” section which gives all the necessary tips about foraging practices and safety concerns when foraging, which is the most important part for anyone to learn when starting a wilderness related hobby.

Finally, Mushroom Wanderland also gives great descriptions of exploring the wilderness and how it influences your state of mind for the better. Overall, the book is a great choice for anyone who wants to start foraging or learn more about the practice.
